Like so many dancers preparing for majors or local feiseanna, I have my moments of extreme frustration. Being an athlete is no easy feat. It requires hours of blood, sweat and tears, as well as mental toughness and resiliency.
There are moments were I am thrilled with my progress and then there are moments where I am so incredibly frustrated or panicked by what I believe to be a lack of progression. In the end, I always tell myself that I have to trust the process. Along with the encouragement of my incredible support system, this mantra has been crucial in my training.
So for those of you recovering from an injury, struggling with training or just having an “off week,” remember that you can do it. Don’t underestimate yourself and believe in yourself!
Keep calm and trust the process.
